Education makes a big difference for all of the children welcomed in the Pinocchio Educational Center in Panciu.
Here, they can find school support, literacy courses, hygiene activities and games. The Center is a point of reference for children aged between 3 and 16 as well as for families in difficulty; it helps in the dialogue with the school institutions and offers meals for the youngest.
This because playing, learning and eating are a common right.
Love and commitment can do a lot,
and time, here, is always worth it.

Education. Formation. Children’s rights.
IBO Italia’s project involves taking care of the children and their education, hoping that they would break the poverty cycle once they grow up.
Continuity to afterschool and non-formal education activities was ensured with games, art, sport, theatre and cookery labs. Fundamental to the children growth was the commitment of a social worker and educators who visited the families periodically, offered mediation with the school and educational and work guidance.
Thanks to the support of many donors, the free – food service was guaranteed for all the children during year 2018, besides the free street- breakfast offered at the entrance of the school.

Panciu is a city 200 km far from Bucharest, situated in the Vrancea county. Illiteracy, malnutrition, begging and school desertion are common phenomena and the cultural, hygienic and healthcare context is uncertain. The Romani people – approximately 880 in a total population of 7664 inhabitants – are frequently and heavily discriminated also in school. Prior to IBO Italia’s intervention nobody would take care neither of the children nor their families.
