EVAC project, approved at the end of 2017, is one of the actions financed by Erasmus + programme, meant to reinforce volunteering and non-formal learning in different areas in the world. In 2018, 5 organizations from Italy, Romania, Perù, Madagascar and India, cooperated to promote volunteering at local and international level, favouring the meeting and exchange of tutors, volunteers and local communities.
During the first phase of the project, some IBO and the Rumanian Asociatia Lumea Pinocchio staff effected 3 study visits to extra European organisations: occasions for getting to know each other, exhanging experiences about volunteering and youth involvement.
I am very grateful to whoever opened their house to me, to whoever hosted me in these months

In the year when the new EUROPEAN SOLIDARITY CORP was launched, 10 were the youngsters from Italy, Romania, Perù and Madagascar that worked as volunteers with one of the member organisations. These volunteers were active from June 2018 to March 2019 on animation, non-formal education and sensibilisation activities involving young people of the local hosting communities.
For IBO Italia that received Rosalit, Valerie and Dauphin, this was the opportunity to enhance the welcoming of foreign volunteers in its own Ferrara seat and to reverse the vision of international volunteering as an exclusive opportunity for young Europeans and from the western countries.
The training course for youth operators held in April 2018 was a linguistic and cultural challenge, but it made it possible for 12 operators from the member organisations to meet in Ferrara: 6 days’ confrontation, discussion and exchange of good practices on youth volunteering.
